Out the back (bedroom) window I have a third floor view of the sports court and track. Every weekday morning at 6:30am, free Chinese music is provided from loud speakers around the track. No need for an alarm clock!
Just to keep my perspective in check, I have learned that the student dorms do not have water, restrooms or even electrical outlets provided. Water comes from your personal thermos, (which each student fills whenever they can get to the boiler facility,) and restrooms are in another building, shared at a 50:1 ratio. Lights are controlled by the university and the students charge any electronic devices in the classrooms or student union / dining hall whenever they can. I have nothing to complain about as I am truly blessed!
